Swedish Touring Car specialists WestCoast Racing are seriously considering a programme to include the inaugural TCR UK Series in 2018.

WestCoast Racing currently compete in the TCR International Series and have shown race-winning pedigree since the inception of the championship in 2015, notching up an impressive tally of 16 victories. This year the team switched to Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, with Gianni Morbidelli securing back-to-back wins in Germany.

The recently announced TCR UK series features seven rounds and gets underway on 31st March.

“We’ve had some discussions with TCR UK promoter Jonathan Ashman and I’m impressed with his plans for the new British series,” said Team Manager James Nixon. “We’re now looking at the viability of joining in 2018.

“We’re a winning outfit and we have the resources to make that happen in the UK. We’ll now start talks with potential drivers and hope to firm up our plans in the short to medium term.”
